VW T2 Danbury Replacement Pop Top Canvas

This product is a replacement pop top roof canvas for the Danbury original Type 2 conversions up to 1980.

Still converting Type 2s and Type 5s today, the Danbury conversion offered a simple Pop Top reminiscent of the Devon. There were several sizes of Danbury so we will need you to send us your old canvas or provide us with measurements. Call if you have any queries.

The original canvas on this model was a narrow red/white stripe, there were a number of loops fixed to the canvas at mid height by studs. These were to hold elastic which would pull the canvas inwards when the roof was lowered but these perished quickly and tended to be discarded. The measurements of the Danbury varied but typically were 2080mm x 1245mm.

Distinguishable attributes for the Danbury Pop Top:

The lid has a very flat top with deep sides.

Fabric Measurements

Measure where the canvas attaches to the roof, we need;

• The length from the outside of the pop top.
• The straight line width (ie not around the curve) from the outside of the pop top.

Type of Material used to making the pop tops.

As standard the pop top is supplied with the Printed PVC we do this to keep in with the retro feel of the T2’s however we can supply the pop tops in a variety of nonstandard materials (charges apply):

Printed StormGuard Pro - is a heavy-duty woven fabric designed to withstand tough conditions. Its flexibility allows for better storing of the pop top canvas when the pop top is closed. The coloured pattern prints adhere more effectively to StormGuard Pro than PVC reducing the likelyhood of scratches on the pop top.. This combination not only enhances longevity but also keeps the material looking smart and vibrant over time.
WeatherMAX - a breathable fabric only available in plain colours, please enquire for colours. This option is an additional 10% to the price of the product. 

Please be aware that these pop tops are made to order and are sold as bespoke items for your vehicle, we cannot accept returns or refunds for colour matching and for purchasing the incorrect pop top canvas.  If you are unsure of what Pop Top Roof you have please send us images of your vehicle so we can help to advise what roof conversion you have. If we are not 100% of what conversion you have we will still be able to supply you with a pop top canvas but will ideally need measurements and your old canvas.
